Alvvays have shared the fantastic video for ‘Many Mirrors’.
The song appears on the band’s acclaimed album ‘Blue Rev’, a project that melds their indie pop sensibilities with fresh ideas. A deft, finesse’d return, the album will be followed by a full European tour next year, including a Primavera Sound visit.
Album highlight ‘Many Mirrors’ has caught the attention of video game developer Eric Barone, and he was invited to craft a visual counterpart. The two struck up a creative relationship, and there’s something pleasingly DIY and old school about the finished results.
Bringing to mind those 90s side-scrolling video games, ‘Many Mirrors’ has a unique colour and zest to it. Eric Barone says…
“It’s not every day I get an email from a cool band like Alvvays. When I learned they were fans of Stardew Valley, it felt like a real honor. The whole album is fantastic, but the song “Many Mirrors” had a pure, adventurous energy to it that really resonated with me. I took that feeling, and used it to create a visual world in my mind’s eye… and that’s what ultimately turned into this video. I had a lot of fun making it, and I’m really happy to be able to contribute, in a small way, to the band’s story!”
Oh, and that’s not all – ever the busy bees, Alvvays have also shot a full performance clip for KEXP. Check out both videos below.
