ALMA Shares Personal New Song ‘Cowboy’

It's about her move to Los Angeles...

Los Angeles is a divisive city.

There's the glamour and the grit, with the sheer expanse of the city beguiling and frustrating in equal measure.

It's a hard place to settle, and ALMA certainly struggled when she left Finland behind.

Ultimately finding her feet and thriving amid LA's pop machinery, ALMA returns to these formative experiences on new cut 'Cowboy'.

Largely leaving electro-pop behind, there are traces of Americana within ALMA's pointed pop arrangement, while the lyrics cut deeper than most.

She explains: “When I first left my home town to write in LA I felt scared and small – like the world was way too big and for me.. it took me a long time to work out who I was and what I wanted to say. I was afraid to give away anything personal at first (us Finnish people are naturally very reserved) so it took a long time for me to understand my true identity and start getting it into my songs. So it helped to create an alter ego – to be a Cowboy.”
