Allen Anjeh Shares Sublime alt-R&B EP ‘Ó mmɛ ne’

It comes from the heart...

Allen Anjeh has shared her wonderful new EP ‘Ó mmɛ ne’.

The rising force blurs the lines between fashion and music, rooting her songwriting in R&B while embracing other influences. Born in Cameroon, she grew up around a loving extended family, each of whom had their own taste in music, something that peppers her work with colour.

Relocating to Denmark as an adolescent, Allen Anjeh became profoundly conscious of her Blackness – it’s something she celebrates in her work, embracing her heritage and toasting the emphatic nature of Black feminine beauty.

New EP ‘Ó mmɛ ne’ is out now, displaying the immediacy of her work but also Allen Anjeh’s breadth. She comments…

Ó mmɛ ne’ radiates my youth. This EP marks the beginning of my internal complexities colliding with my external as I attempt to find some form of harmony. The songs all have a personal significance to me and I hope others can seek their own interpretation of them.

I think attentiveness is one of the most profound ways for humans to get closer to each other’s hearts. One thing I took away from creating this EP is that we are not better off being misunderstood, we should always try to understand one another, because if we are both talking, then who is listening?

Tune in now.
