The next single by Morrissey has been announced as “All You Need Is Me” and will be released on May 19th.
The singer, who recently received an in-court apology from Word Magazine, is currently battling the NME over a recent article. The singer has chosen to cover David Bowie’s “Drive In Saturday” as a B-side of the single. In an internet broadside published shortly after said controversial interview Morrissey claimed the NME journalist had never heard of the song, and went on to lament the decline of the music press if this was the standards they were used to.
Shortly after, a Clashmusic.com scribe was dispatched to local record emporium Groucho’s to find a copy of said song.
Morrissey was recently announced as the headliner for London’s O2 Wireless festival on July 4th. He has chosen Beck, New York Dolls and (intriguingly) Black Kids to appear alongside him at the festival.
“All You Need Is Me” will be released through Decca on May 19th.
