Alix Page as shared new single ‘Pulling Teeth’.
The Californian pop riser is fresh from a batch of trans-Atlantic tour dates, accompanying Clash favourite Gracie Abrams. The sold out shows included a few nods to the future, with Alix now sharing a brand new single.
Out now, ‘Pulling Teeth’ was constructed alongside Irish actor and musician Mark McKenna, and it’s a break up hymn brave enough to view the situation from multiple angles.
“This song came from a breakup, specifically during one of the final conversations with my ex who used the expression, ‘pulling teeth’, as a comparison to certain aspects of our relationship,” she says. “I couldn’t get that phrase out of my head.”
The full video is online, and it finds Alix and Mark re-kindling their creative partnership. She says: “Working with Mark was a dream and anyone who knows me knows that Sing Street is my favourite movie of all time.”
“The video was directed, shot, styled, recorded, and performed by all good friends of mine in Long Beach, CA. In my experience, the hardest part about breakups is that a lot of times the good memories outweigh the bad, so it was important to me to have the sweet montage moments with Mark on top of heartbreaking lyrics to capture that concept.”
