Alison Goldfrapp Launches Solo Album ‘The Love Invention’

It's out on May 12th...

Alison Goldfrapp will release new album ‘The Love Invention’ on May 12th.

The singer spearheaded Goldfrapp, one of the most astute, enjoyable, and downright filthy combos in UK electronic pop. Melding club tropes with divine melodies, the group built an excellent catalogue, replete with chart jewels.

Earlier this year Alison Goldfrapp shared a couple of solo singles, pairing her vocals with some in-demand production talent. New solo album – her first! – ‘The Love Invention’ will follow, alongside some live shows.

The new album is out on May 12th via Skint, and it’s led by all-out club bubbler ‘So Hard So Hot’. Supremely enjoyable, the record aligns her vocal to some superb, house-drenched production; she sings, “Do you know how the stars were made / Yeah you know how to radiate.”

Alison Goldfrapp comments…

“I wanted to do something that had that very clubby, acid-y feeling to it. But I wanted lightness to come out of the chorus – there’s tension there, as well as euphoric freedom.”

Alison and Mat Maitland at Big Active combine on the vocal, an ultra-colourful offering that plays with retro computer imagery.
