Alex Turner Talks Videos

Band does all own stunts

Alex Turner has revealed the secrets behind the award-winning videos released by The Last Shadow Puppets.

The Arctic Monkeys mainman formed the group with close friend Miles Kane. The group excel in a grandiose blend of 60s pop, with Burt Bacharach and Scott Walker among the band’s main influences.

Debut album ‘The Age Of The Understatement’ was dominated by sweeping strings and soaring vocals, as Turner and Kane seemed to challenge each other to even greater heights.

The group released the single ‘My Mistakes Were Made For You’ last year, and the spectacular video recently won a trophy at the NME awards.

Speaking at the ceremony Alex Turner said of the stunts in the promo “we did it all”.

“Quite painful actually. Doesn’t look it… the harness really digging in on your side, suspended for sometimes three or four minutes at a time.”

Last Shadow Puppets are currently on hiatus as Alex Turner returns to Arctic Monkeys.
