Alex Spencer’s ‘One Way Ticket’ Cements His Rise

It's a quickfire two minute indie anthem...

Alex Spencer has shared his zesty new single ‘One Way Ticket’.

The Manchester songbird is only 16 years old, with his debut single ‘A Night To Waste’ erupting on to streaming services at the beginning of the year. Working with Modern Sky UK, his second release cements his rise.

‘One Way Ticket’ is a two-minute pile-driver, a compact indie anthem that is done and dusted in 120 seconds. Reminiscent of those early Jake Bugs tunes, there’s a healthy dose of realism to the way Alex Spencer writes music.

An honest voice aiming to speak to his peers, ‘One Way Ticket’ finds Alex Spencer revelling in his precocity. He comments…

“I talk about the life of someone essentially of a generation stuck in the same loop, in a system that repeats over and over again. According to those higher up, our lives are set out exactly how they want them to be. We might be beginning to realise we have less freedom, but not everybody can see it yet. So many problems in this world are man-made but we can break free and fix them.”
