Glasgow-based indie pop force Alex Amor has shared new single ‘Desire’.
The songwriter’s immaculate debut EP ‘Love Language‘ caught attention, prompting comparisons to beabadoobee or even Wolf Alice. Indie infused with pop appeal, her recent project ‘Super Sonic‘ was a daring dose of over-sharing.
Taking a moment to recalibrate, new single ‘Desire’ plays to Alex Amor’s strengths – bold, potent songwriting, it deals with the travails of modern dating.
A song about those initial moments of attraction, ‘Desire’ playfully looks at why logic flies out of the conversation when Alex Amor falls deep.
A lush piece of indie-adjacent songwriting, ‘Desire’ seems to be timed for those summer crushes coming of age…
She says:
“Around the time I wrote ‘Desire’, I was reflecting on how all rationality goes out the window when dating. You could be the smartest, most level-headed person, but when it comes to love, no one is safe from heartbreak. With all the messiness that being human brings, we’re inevitably going to succumb to our temptations and urges, often to mixed results.”
Tune in now.
