Alex Amor Shares New Ear-Worm ‘Like The First Time’

The video carries a drifting sense of nostalgia...

Glasgow-based Alex Amor has shared her new single ‘Like The First Time’.

The songwriter’s new EP ‘Super Sonic’ is out on November 3rd, released via key tastemaker imprint Young Poet. Just this week, you can catch Alex Amor in action at London’s Paper Dress Vintage on August 24th.

New single ‘Like The First Time’ continues her rise, a dose of alt-pop with some indie overtones. Reminiscent of everyone from Alvvays to the Cardigans, with Alex citing HAIM as a key influence on this fresh chapter in her work.

Co-produced with Karma Kid and Josef Page, ‘Like The First Time’ marks the point at which a moment of writer’s block was suddenly shattered – rippling with light and inspiration, it’s a warming summer sing-along.

Alex Amor comments…

“This song came together at the very end of a non eventful studio day. Instead of ending the day early, we decided to listen to more music and take a few breaks. Haim came on in that moment and was a big reference for this project, with their first album being on repeat that day. The song’s about not giving up on a long term love and recreating the magic when you first met, reigniting the spark that once existed in the relationship, with the intention of recapturing the magic of that initial encounter.”

The nostalgia-draped video was directed by Henry Croston, and the Super 8 footage is focussed on Luss, a picturesque village near Loch Lomond that Alex visited as a child.

Tune in now.
