Revolver Entertainment have announced that the forthcoming live DVD ‘Al Green – Live In ’72’ will not now be released due to unforeseen circumstances.
The title was due to be released on November 3rd, but will now be with-held until the matter is resolved. The set is taken from a teelvision performance Al Green gave in his early 70s heyday. Captured close to his commercial peak the set contained many of his greatest hits and would have been a superb collector’s item for fans.
However, ‘Al Green – Live In ’72’ will not now be released. Mike Hewiit issued a statement on behalf of Revolver Entertainment saying that “it is unfortunate that we have had to withdraw sale of this DVD in 2008 at such late notice, but we are hopeful that we will be in a position to release Al Green Live in ’72 in early 2009.”
All is not lost for Al Green fans however – the man himself is set to tour the UK later this year. See Al Green at the following dates:
