aja monet will release her debut album ‘when the poems do what they do’ on June 9th.

A poet, social organiser, and all-round champion, aja monet finessed her love of communication at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Café, becoming the youngest ever person to claim Grand Slam Champion.

Putting this creativity down on record, incoming album ‘when the poems do what they do’ is out this summer. Built with a varied cast, guests include Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah FKA Christian Scott on trumpet, Samora Pinderhughes on piano, and Marcus Gilmore on drums, amongst others.

Elsewhere, you can anticipate guest spots from Lonnie Holley, soul artist Eryn Allen Kane, Novena Carmel, and more.
