AIR are set to release a 25th anniversary edition of their seminal album ‘Moon Safari’.
The French production duo – Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel – were a new proposition on its 1998 release, but ‘Moon Safari’ went on to conquer the world. Matching retro grooves to chilled out electronics, their pop appeal was undeniable, spawning a generation of imitators.
The original remains the greatest, with ‘Moon Safari’ toasting its Silver Anniversary last year. Now a full 25th anniversary edition is slated to his streaming on March 8th, boasting rare tracks and a documentary from the time.
A Spatial Dolby Atmos audio version will be available, featuring rare or previously unreleased tracks. Alongside this, it will boast Mike Mill’s 1998 documentary film Eating, Sleeping, Waiting & Playing – an intimate look at their first ever worldwide tour.
Available digitally, a Deluxe 2CD/Blu Ray Audio-Video version will also be available from March 8th.
Jean-Benoît Dunckel reflects…
“We were a duo doing some electronic thing, dreaming of selling 10,000 copies and being recognised by other musicians as cool. Then suddenly, we met the world.”
AIR will play London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 30th.
