Adrianne Lenker has shared new solo song ‘Ruined’.
A key part in Big Thief, Lenker’s solo work has an identity all of its own. Already extensive in volume, Adrianne Lenker will add a fresh chapter next year.
A new solo album is incoming on 4AD, with the American artist sharing new song ‘Ruined’. Letting the piano become her primary instrument for the first time, Adrianne Lenker develops the piece into a touching torch song.
As ever, the emotions are raw, and sit palpably beneath the surface. Adrianne sings: “Can’t get enough of you / You come around I’m ruined.”
Out now, ‘Ruined’ comes with a video shot by her brother – Noah Lenker – and features a collage of Adrianne Lenker in Autumnal foliage.

“This song has been a quiet beacon for me. It may contain the essence of the gift of romantic love but it’s mostly about something much bigger.”
