For services to the music industry...

Adele and PJ Harvey are amongst the recipients of the MBE as part of the Queen's Christmas honours.

Christmas is a time of tradition, and there are few institutions with a greater sense of tradition (in this country, at least) than royalty. The Queen's Honours list is a time of great pomp and pageantry, with all manner of people receiving awards in honour of their services to the country.

The Queen's Christmas honours will take place this Thursday (December 19th) and will include recognition of the music industry. Adele is set to receive the MBE, in honour of her services to the music industry at home and abroad.

A global icon, the '19' and '21' singer is currently at home playing mum following the birth of her first child. Due to receive the honour in person, Adele will be joined by another influential female artist.

PJ Harvey is also due to pick up the MBE, following two decades of acclaimed, probing music.

Best of luck to the pair of 'em!
