Adele and Kanye West are amongst the artists dominating the list of nominations for the 2012 Grammy awards.
Love them or loathe them, the Grammy awards are one of the biggest music ceremonies on the Stateside calendar. Despite its mixed reputation, the award retain a high profile reputation which extends across the globe.
Returning in 2012, the Grammy awards unveiled the full list of nominations last night (November 30th). Taking place in Los Angeles, the ceremony saw performances from Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
Amongst the big winners is British singer Adele, whose enormous global success has been recognised with a total of six nominations.
Adele has been given the nod ‘Album Of The Year’, ‘Record Of The Year’ and ‘Pop Vocal Of The Year’, amongst others.
Other artists making an indent into the nominations include Kanye West. The rapper has been nominated for his solo work, with the Jay-Z fuelled collaboration ‘Watch The Throne’ also being recognised.
Playing some of the biggest headline shows of their career in 2011, Foo Fighters have been rewarded with six nominations. Dave Grohl & Co. are battling is out for the prestigious ‘Album Of The Year’ gong – which famously went to Arcade Fire earlier this year.

With the nominations list being unveiled, Grammy award fever is now well under way. Speculation is mounting that a tribute to Amy Winehouse could be in the offing, while the ceremony could also mark the 50th anniversary of the Beach Boys with something special.
The Grammy awards take place on February 12th.
