Adele has revealed that she does not speak to her father after he sold a story on her life to a tabloid.
After her record breaking Grammy win, Adele would seem to have it all. Recently renting a £7 million mansion in West Sussex, the singer intends to get back in the studio shortly to make some new music.
However there is one thing troubling the singer. In a recent interview Adele revealed that she has a fractious relationship with her father, who apparently sold a story on her life to British tabloid The Sun.
Speaking to Vogue, the anger was clearly close to the surface. “I was actually ready to start trying to have a relationship with him,” she said.
“He’s fucking blown it. He will never hear from me again. Because there is nothing that would upset me more than my dad being bribed by the press. It’s like, ‘Just let them run it, then. Don’t you give them ammunition”.
Continuing, the singer said: “It makes me angry! To come back after 10 years and be like, ‘Maybe her problem with men comes down to me’. It’s like, ‘Fuck off! How dare you comment on my life?’ It makes my blood boil.”
Finishing, Adele claimed that she would spit in her father’s face if he attempted to make contact. “There’s consequences other than just getting a bit of fucking money that lasts you half a year. It blows my mind. ‘I love her so much’. Really? Why are you telling me that through a newspaper? If I ever see him I will spit in his face.”
