Addison Groove is set to release a full length album on 50 Weapons later this year.
One of the defining signals of dubstep’s disintegration has been the shifting of monikers. Ramadanman became Pearson Sound, while Bristol heavyweight Headhunter morphed into Addison Groove.
Real name Antony Williams, the producer announced his new alter ego with 2010’s epochal ‘Footcrab’ cut. Inspired by Juke and Footwork, it marked the first intrusion of the Chicago scene into the slipstream of UK bass.
Now Addison Groove is close to releasing a full length album. News of the LP was leaked by 50 Weapons last year, with Modeselektor’s label scratching a message into the one sided release ‘Addison Locked Groove’.
The cryptic message read: “sometimes the less you know, the better. curiosity has killed many cats and when you push yourself too far, crack will be the one that keeps your sanity”.
Giving the game away, the message finished: “Addison Groove album out on 50weapons in 2012.”
Teasing fans, Addison Groove has confirmed that he will stream a snippet from the album each week until its release. Titled ‘Transistor Rhythm’ the LP is not released until April 2nd, meaning that we’ve got plenty of snippets left…
