Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek, who records under the name Roses Kings Castles has announced details of a new, cassette only, release.
The humble cassette seems to be making a comeback in recent times. Music fans longing for the days of patiently making mixtapes have been alienated by the ruthless efficiency of iPod’s shuffle function.
Ficek released his debut album ‘Roses Kings Castles’ late last year. A surprising artistic success, it blended some gentle acoustic styles with the indie rock of Babyshambles.
To promote the release Ficek played a wayward tour consisting of secret shows with Babyshambles cohort Pete Doherty. Indie icon Doherty is himself due to release a solo album.
Forthcoming release ‘Roses Kings Cassettes’ consists of unreleased demos Ficek recorded when working on his album. Released in a limited run of one hundred, the mini-album will come out on Ficek’s own label The Sycamore Club.
Adam Ficek releases ‘Roses Kings Cassettes’ on March 30th.
