For those about to rock we salute you – Australian hard rock legends AC/DC are set to launch their world tour, with comeback single “Rock ‘N’ Roll Train” also in the works.
One of the best selling, most important and also most under-rated bands of all time, AC/DC are back. Formed in Australia in the early 70s by a group of exiled Scots in love with rock and roll, the band survived the death of original singer Bon Scott to become one of the best selling groups in the history of rock music.
Whilst their early albums still form the bulk of their live set, it is 1980’s “Back In Black” album that made their name. The 5th best selling album in American history, it set the template for many hard rock and metal bands to follow. With new singer Brian Johnson in tow, AC/DC strode the globe as an unstoppable rock juggernaut.
Now the band are back. New single “Rock ‘N’ Roll Train” had its radio debut last month, and the band have unveiled some of the dates for their Black Ice world tour. An 18 month jaunt, the tour will begin with a massive American leg before turning its attention to the rest of the planet.
The new album will be called “Black Ice” and will be released in October 21st. Recorded with Brendan O’Brien in Vancouver, it comes eight years after the band’s previous LP “Stiff Upper Lip”.
AC/DC will start their world tour on October 28th in Wilkes-Barre, PA in the United States. It is expected to last for 18 months, and no announcement has been made regarding British and European dates.
