Hard rockin’ giants of modern music AC/DC have been forced to call on Formula One fitness coaches in an effort to get fit for thier forthcoming marathon tour.
Stretching over two years, the ‘Black Ice World Tour’ would be a huge undertaking for anyone – let alone men nearing pension age. AC/DC are renowned for the physical dexterity of their live performances, with guitarist Angus Young leaping around like a man half his age.
New album ‘Black Ice’ has been acclaimed as the band’s finest in over twenty years, and marks a stunning return to the hard rock boogie which first propelled them into the public’s consciousness.
In an interview with Absolute Radio, singer Brian Johnson admitted that “Both me and Angus (Young, guitarist) have got a fitness regime.”
“I’m getting a Formula One guy in. A fitness guy, he’s trying to get me whipped into shape and size. Its two-and-a-bit hours and there’s no time for recovery.”
Later on in the interview the band hinted that the stage set for the tour would include a massive train – in honor of comeback single ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Train’.
AC/DC are set to tour the UK next April.
