Abby Sage Shares Beautiful New Song ‘The Florist’

"When something is broken, I want to fix it..."

Today, August 3rd, Abby Sage has unveiled her new single ‘The Florist’.

The new release is a dreamy indie track, accompanied by artwork as smooth as ‘The Florist’s  vocals. Tender guitar leads a grazing drumbeat, making space for Sage’s soft lyrics about the transformative power of bringing beauty to others.

“I’m someone who’s so protective of their friends,” shares Abby. “When something is broken, I want to fix it. And a florist is someone who through their actions makes a room prettier –because flowers always manage to do that.”

The single comes alongside the announcement of Sage’s eponymous EP, due for release on October 21st via Nettwerk. The alt-pop artist loves a conceptual character sketch, with each track set to represent a micro-narrative, or play.

The upcoming EP is an evolution of Sage’s previous project – her debut EP ‘Fears Of Yours And Mine.’

Of the project, Abby expresses: “The last project was a very personal take of what I was immediately experiencing at the time while this project feels a bit grander and observational… I wanted to write about the experience of others, the unfamiliar coinciding with the familiar.”

If her past work is anything to go by, ‘The Florist’ EP promises to be full-bodied and beautiful, bolstered by Sage’s quiet expertise in expressing emotion.

Tune in now.
