Abbie Ozard has laid out plans for her debut album ‘everything still worries me’.
The songwriter’s raw indie pop specialises in over-sharing, her conversational lyricism attracting an online army of fans. A flurry of EPs and stand-alone singles have built her catalogue, with Abbie taking time over her debut album.
The long wait will soon be over – debut LP ‘everything still worries me’ is out on July 25th. Released through House Anxiety, it finds Abbie Ozard stripping her sound back before building anew, resulting in some of her best work yet.
Take new single ‘anything for you’. Out now, it was penned alongside Ben Matravers, and revels in anxious energy – the fuzzy bassline, the clipped melody, the use of restraint all point to confidence and maturity in the studio.
The sound of someone embracing her truth, Abbie Ozard uses ‘anything for you’ to declare emotional independence. She comments…
“In the past I’ve found myself changing everything about myself to suit another person. This track embodies the desperation and yearning you experience during an unrequited situationship, how you can’t think for yourself and how blindsided you are when it comes to love that isn’t reciprocated but still ongoing.“
Tune in now.
