A Place To Bury Strangers are set to release their new EP ‘Onwards To The Wall’ on February 6th.
The ongoing shoegaze revival has thrown up its fair share of insipid wannabes, the type of bands who seem to think that arranging their pedals in the right way surpasses any need for songwriting prowess.
A Place To Bury Strangers are not one of those bands. Combining extreme volume with plenty of new ideas, the band’s bass heavy assault matches the intensity of Joy Division with the blissful noise of My Bloody Valentine.
Working on new material, the New York band have now confirmed plans to release a new EP. ‘Onwards To The Wall’ is set to be released on February 6th, with A Place To Bury Strangers taking charge of every aspect of their sound.
Produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by the band themselves, the five track release is the first to feature new bassist Dion Lunadon, formerly of The D4.
Dead Oceans are taking charge of the release, with ‘Onwards To The Wall’ set to be available on CD, 12 inch vinyl and digital download. Apparently infused with a pop touch, A Place To Bury Strangers have not lost their appetite for carnage.
To preview the upcoming EP, the band are giving away new cut ‘So Far Away’. A succinct blast of noise rock you can grab the track HERE.
