Sheffield post-rockers 65daysofstatic have released a new mash up teaser for their forthcoming album.
Must be something in the water. Musicians in Sheffield seem to have their heads screwed on different, with everyone from Reverend And The Makers to illustrious electronic label Warp forming in the city.
Equally inspired by post-rock troupes such as Tortoise and afore-mentioned house of glitch Warp, 65daysofstatic are utterly unique. Live, the band are a blizzard of ideas while their recorded output contains some truly spell-binding rock music.
Expanding the definition of rock to new boundaries, 65daysofstatic took some time off after third album ‘The Destruction Of Small Idea’ in 2007, re-charging their batteries and releasing a live recording.
Returning to the studio last year, 65daysofstatic recently confirmed details of their new album. Titled ‘We Were Exploding Anyway’ the new record is set to be released next month, with new single ‘Crash Tactics’ available now.
A free download, the new single is a triumphant collision of furious rock music and bass heavy electronics. Set to burst ear drums across the country, it’s best to listen to this shit LOUD y’all.
Now 65daysofstatic have confirmed another teaser for their new album. A 5 minute audio mash up of selected tracks from the new record, the video is a exciting yet disorientating introduction to the band’s new sound.
Watch it HERE.
65daysofstatic are set to release ‘We Were Exploding Anyway’ on April 26th.
