1990s Preview New Album

Scots Indie Group Return

Scots indie legends 1990s are preparing the way for their return by uploading two new tracks to their Myspace page.

The band formed from the ashes of cult Glaswegian group The Yummy Fur, who at one time boasted Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos in their line up. 1990s sweet indie pop brings to mind the C86 generation, but with a more spiteful lyrical touch. The group released their debut album ‘Cookies’ in 2007, and gathered a cult following.

In a new blog singer Jackie McKeown confirmed the new albums release, saying “in a week’s time we’re back down in London to record the final three songs for our album. One’s called ‘Kickstrasse’ and there might be one called ‘Sparks’ and another is ‘sans title’ but it’s got a hillbilly giddy-up vibe you might like. I’m excited to say the least.”

New songs ‘The Box’ and ‘Vondelpark’ have been uploaded to the Myspace page, with more to follow as the band finish them.

The new 1990s album will be released in February or March 2009.
