Korean-Australian rap collective 1300 have unveiled their new mixtape, ‘George’.

The Sydney-based crew were formed in 2021, united by a shared ambition to create a pan-genre concoction pulling from K-pop, classic rap, gabber, trap, and industrial music. Orbiting the insular Korean-Australian scene in their home city, rappers rakogoyo, triple threat DALI HART, producer-singer Nerdie and producer pokari.sweat, distorted modes of craft from audio to visual on their 2022 debut project, ‘Foreign Language’, which first communicated themes of disconnect and cultural disorientation.

‘George’ is the next chapter of their untethered creative enterprise. Intended to transfix and mystify, the nine-track collection is an “an audacious musical venture entrenched in the intricate intersection of culture, amidst the backdrop of doom-scrolling, deep fakes and digital misinformation.”

Highlighted alongside the mixtape is focus track ‘Levitate’, which comes with a video directed Raghav Rampal. Slow motion, sweat and strobe converge as the supergroup embody a hardcore set up delivering the performance of a lifetime.
