Returning Scandinavians 120 Days have delivered an inspired take on Austra’s stand out track ‘Lose It’.
Releasing their self-titled debut album back in 2009, 120 Days left a deep impression. The Norwegian four piece had the whole ‘ice cold Scandianvian techno’ sound down pat, yet by allowing their oscillations to spiral off into the clouds the band revealed traces of Krautrock on their music.
Touring around the world, 120 Days are now preparing to release their second album. Titled – rather logically – ‘120 Days II’ the announcement of new material has stirred the four piece into life.
Previews are coming thick and fast, with 120 Days dropping a remix of Canadian singer Austra. Signed to Domino, Austra’s debut album was released last year and matched a mature, reflective songwriting style with doses of 80s synth pop.
Stand out track ‘Lose It’ was given a full single release, with 120 Days recently stepping in to provide a remix. Stamping their sound all over the track, the Norwegian group layers the vocals to gain a haunting, choral sound.
First released this summer on Austra’s ‘Sparkle’ 12 inch, you can download the remix below…
