1000 Beasts Shares New Album ‘Burning Flower’ In Full

Featuring a glittering cast...

Cork-based hyphenated 1000 Beasts has shared his new album ‘Burning Flower’ in full.

The songwriter’s sparkling 2022 release ‘Neruda’ outlined a bold talent, but he felt unable to stop. Continually creative, sessions quickly evolved into something new, with a follow-up album taking shape within weeks.

Opening himself out to new influences, 1000 Beasts invited different voices to contribute, working with the likes of FeliSpeaks, Célia Tiab, LENII, Arthur Valentine, April and Orla Gartland.

Discussing this eclectic guest cast, he comments:

The lockdown changed the way music could be made. Much of the 1000 Beasts process is now collaborative and remote. I can create a beat and send it to an artist whom I think it might suit, even if I’ve never met them before. We can then exchange ideas back and forth over email, and something beautiful can be born. It’s a very liberating and fun process.

Out now, ‘Burning Flower’ is hugely impressive; a broad-ranging mixture of sounds, it is perhaps epitomised by the sonic daring behind focus track ‘They Called Her Something’. Bubbling with invention, it evades common descriptors.

As 1000 Beasts puts it: “even though it’s a little different, they always say make music you like, not what you think people will like..”

Tune in now.
