10 Years Of Turbo

Dance Label Comes Of Age

Montreal based electro label Turbo Recordings is set to celebrate an important milestone when it turns 10 later this year.

Head honcho Tiga james Sontag aka Tiga promises a host of new releases and a number of great live events for the summer. The label’s biggest hit was Tiga’s own “Sunglasses At Night” from 2002 – it sold a half million copies and gave its creators a slot on Top Of The Pops.

To celebrate this milestone “Sunglasses At Night” will be remixed and re-released on July 14th. The new pressing will feature stunning remixes from Alter Ego, D.I.M., Popof and Konrad Black. Recorded with the aid of fellow electro great Zyntherius, Tiga recalls that “I didn’t really like it. Score one to Zyntherius. It was one of the electro anthems of the period. I got to ride my own coattails to where I am now. All my dreams came true.”

Also released this summer is a brand new compilation of breaking acts from the cutting edge of the dance world. OMNIDANCE, the new collection, will feature exclusive material from the likes of Tiga, Boys Noise and Chromeo – the release date has been set for some time in September.

Also happening this summer is a 35 date summer tour presenting the best on the label’s roster. The tour will stop in at a numbe rof European venues including a Secret Warehouse Party in London on August 23rd.

Tiga and Zyntherius’ classic electro anthem “Sunglasses At Night” will be re-released on July 14th.
