The American artist’s extraordinary 2019 debut album ‘Athena’ was rightly lauded, a magnificent, daring work that seemed to fuse everything from hip-hop production to R&B songwriting her classical leanings and a deep, abiding interest in pop possibility.
Breaking cover with new material, Sudan Archives has recently shared singles as wide-ranging as the disco-leanings of ‘Home Maker’ and the up-front banger ‘NBPQ (Topless)’.
Now Sudan Archives has made her intentions clear: new album ‘Natural Brown Prom Queen’ is out on September 9th, released through the ever-essential Stones Throw imprint.
It’s an 18 tracker, with Sudan Archives set to play a flurry of festival sets – All Points East and End Of The Road, we’re looking at you here! – this summer, alongside a headline jaunt in November.
