Mela Femmina Shares Icy Synth Jammer ‘Hello Chic’

It taps into 80s opulence…

South-East London based Mela Femmina has shared new track ‘Hello Chic’.

The synth composer was born in Northern Italy, and was drawn to analogue synths after encountering some original 80s Italo Disco cuts.

Immersing herself in sound, Mela Femmina relocated to South-East London, before a damaging break up seemed to unleash her creativity.

Out now, ‘Hello Chic’ represents the stay of something new. Her debut single, it’s released on Slow Dance, and the icy synths are pared along to brittle but engaging beats.

There’s a hint of dystopian proto-techno in the track’s DNA, while Mela’s exuberant vocal bristles with energy, and a true sense of purpose.

Mela says the song is “really about my emancipation after a long and intense relationship, finding my feet and transforming this pain into something positive and cathartic that involved one of the places so close to my heart – Bologna.”
