潘PAN – fka Aristophanes – has shared her new EP ‘Reborn’.
The digital voyager caused a ruckus under her previous moniker, working with the likes of Grimes in the process. Taking time out to refocus, the artist returns as 潘PAN, constructing an ambitious, bilingual feast of pop possibility.
Out now, the song cycle is broad, in-depth, and enormously detailed – nothing is left to chance. Lyrically, the songs on ‘Reborn’ were constructed across Hong Kong, Berlin and Taipei, before being recorded and produced in London and Melbourne.
BON and Clams Casino assist on production, while mixer David Wrench also adding some audio magic.
An impressive return, 潘PAN labels ‘Reborn’ her most potent work yet:
“Pain, sorrow, anger, delicate sounds build up and demonstrate the strength of being vulnerable. The urge to feel connected and cared for in a relationship, the desire of expressing needs without shame, and the mixture of regret and limerence, all are very sexual, and intensively delivered by the sounds and abstract lyrics.”
