Yuck – as band names go, it’s not the most immediately appealing.
Yet it seems strangely appropriate. Not because of their sound, but because the London band provoke a reaction. In today’s ‘everything is fantastic’ instant download culture, it’s rare to find a group who can divide opinion.
Loved and loathed, Yuck mix classic pop songs with grisly guitars. Untamed, sweaty punk rock the band have already caused a stir on both sides of the Atlantic, with American imprint Fat Possum swooping to sign them.
Set to meet the hype head on with their debut album in 2011, Yuck are set to preview their material with new single ‘Rubber’.
