Woodpigeon's story is both simple and complex.
The project started in Edinburgh but ended up in Canada. Led by Mark Andrew Hamilton, Woodpigeon are in essence a solo project, but to date have included more than 70 collaborators.
New album 'Thumbtacks + Glue' is both a great starting off point for newcomers and a rich, rewarding document for long time fans. Given a UK release via Fierce Panda, this is layered, acoustic songwriting with a real poetic flair.
Preparing for a one off London show this summer, Woodpigeon are able to debut their new video on Clash. 'Robin Song' is a gentle, lilting track which – were we not tucking into Easter eggs – would make us think of long Autumnal walks through crunching leaves.
Adapted into a cute animated clip, this is a genuinely beautiful, hugely engrossing clip.
