Wildeflower – Nothing Happens

Pastoral songwriting...

Even though it's May, each day seems to bring with it about three different seasons.

The Clash office has been beset by wind and rain, plummeting temperatures and scorching sunshine – often within the space of a few hours. It's a curious feeling, watching the sky roll past knowing that it's feeling just as unsettled as we are.

Wildeflower seems to know these feelings well. A group project hinging on Max Kinghorn-Mills, the English songwriter's work is pastoral in nature, folk influenced.

Sometimes sunny, euphoric, refreshing there are also times when Wildeflower pauses for reflection, is consumed by melancholy.

It's a curious juxtaposition, one that feels incredibly, potently English at times. Working on their debut album, new single 'Nothing Happens' is a nice introduction for those new to the charms of Wildeflower.

Released on June 10th, the fragility of the songcraft is underlined by a video which gathers home footage from the English countryside.

Watch it now.
