Cornish duo White Witches has something of the eerie, the unknown about them.
The pairing – Rory Lewarne, formerly of Sheffield artrockers Pink Grease, and the writer Jeremy Allen – conduct fetid synth pop experiments, crooning melodies with a gothic sweep.
Debut album 'Heironymus Anonymous' is truly remarkable, a contagious, original, vastly atmosphere piece of posthumous pop.
'Savages' taps into their well of the uncanny, with Jo Bevan of Desperate Journalist popping up on the chorus.
Steven Santa Cruz – also formerly of Pink Grease – directs the visuals, and it finds White Witches lingering in the midnight woodland.
"I was absolutely delighted to be working with Steve again and being part of his gothic vision," Rory said, "even when it involved doing choreographed dancing in the middle of the night while shivering in a field in Berkshire."
