Five tracks, five different producers.
One topic.
When Trophy Wife began sketching out plans for a new EP, the Oxford based outfit found their minds staggering back to one common theme. Constructing the material around associations with sleep, the band explored the divide between the conscious mind and the imagination with the help of five guest producers.
The results are gathered on ‘Bruxism’. Due for release on October 17th, the five track EP matched Trophy Wife with producers such as Warp signings Plaid, close friend Andrew Halford, techno don Ewan Pearson and more.
Showcasing five different aspects of their sound, Trophy Wife have decided to construct a new video for each track.
‘Canopy Shade’ is the lead track, and is represented by the cover which features a couple in bed. “Its about dreaming of not being able to sleep” explain the band. “It’s about the space between sex and sleep and about waiting for your dreams to begin in the presense of another person.”
