I discovered Jeff’s animations through some work he had done for Light In The Attic Records. I reached out to him, and the three of us (myself, my wife Kim, and Jeff) began meeting up and developing the concept.
Being the animal lover that I am, we decided to go with a cat and mouse style story about how the dogs find their way to us. The dogs in the video are based on our dogs (Daisy and Ruby) who we rescued out of unfortunate circumstances.
We saw the video as an opportunity to shed light on the fact that there are an abundance of animals in need of homes and that adopting a dog is saving a life. Although the song wasn’t written about dogs, it is a song about outliers navigating their way and looking for a home.
