Tom Hickox – The Pretty Pride of Russia

"...a collection of antiheroes, rogues, chancers and victims"

Tom Hickox is a story teller. Hailing from London, his songs are observational in nature, capturing the intricacies of everyday life.

Typically ambitious, Hickox has decided to forego the usual procedures and name his forthcoming album 'War, Peace and Diplomacy'. Often writing from the point of view of a different character, a new protagonist the songwriter recently described the album as "…a collection of antiheroes, rogues, chancers and victims".

To coincide with the release of the album, Tom Hickox has commissioned a series of short films inspired by the material. 'Pretty Pride of Russia' – the first clip to emerge – touches on the themes in his upcoming album, with De La Muerte Films helping to bring the footage to life.

A collection of found footage, the archival feel matches the often world weary nature of Tom Hickox' work.
