It's a terrible, vague, inappropriate term.
Yet 'world music' has still not been replaced. Packed to the brimful with good intentions, it can't quite cover what The Very Best accomplish.
Second album 'MTMTMK' was a stirring return on its release last year. The beats were pushed to new levels – louder, fatter, faster than anything the group had completed to date.
Alongside this, though, were some soulful, African vocals. Born in Malawi, Esau Mwamwaya now lives in London, and a chance encounter propelled him into The Very Best, channelling their boundless energy with his voice.
The results are quite special. Album cut 'Moto' was recently paired to some live visuals, giving an impression of the boundless energy which comes across onstage.
Watch it now.
