Once shunned to the sidelines, bass culture now sits at the forefront of British music.
Glancing at the charts, you can find pop stars with a fondness for drum 'n' bass as well as dubstep kingpins making good. It's a curious time, one that kind of makes you feel that anything is possible.
Hailing from East London, The Skints are taking advantage of this state of flux. At heart a punk group, the band update The Clash ethos for the 21st century: adopting bits of Grime, hip hop and dub reggae the band carve out monstrous mash ups.
Second album 'Part and Parcel' is out now, but the band have decided to give it a slight revision. Adding a few new tracks to an expanded edition of the full length, its release will be accompanied by free download single 'Rub-A-Dub (Done Know)'.
By way of a preview, ClashMusic have been granted the first play of the video for 'Rub-A-Dub (Done Know)'. Every bit as infectious as their live show, the clip follows the band on their touring adventures last year as 'Part and Parcel' began to turn The Skints into household names.
Watch it now.
