A truly inspirational name in American indie, The Shins made their return earlier this year.
Sure, the line up may have changed – James Mercer recruiting new charges as old collaborators departed – but The Shins remain a potent force. New album ‘Port Of Morrow’ seemed to divide observers, but Clash writer John Freeman was left spellbound by the sheer impact of the band’s songwriting.
Labelling it the band’s “most accomplished work to date” he then lauded The Shins as “one of the very few bands that can shift truckloads of units without compromising their aesthetic one single iota”.
Recently heading out on tour, The Shins dropped by a studio in the United States to lay down some tracks. Album standout ‘No Way Out’ was amongst the songs recorded by the band – watch their spiky, furious performance below.
