The Last Dinosaur Re-Invent ‘The Greatest Film Never Made’

It's a startling live re-working from the London based project...

The Last Dinosaur is a project born from grief.

Jamie Cameron lost someone close to him when still incredibly young, a fellow musician, a co-conspirator, and a kindred spirit.

Since then, he's been dealing with the loss as best he can. The first album under The Last Dinosaur name – the acclaimed 'Hooray! For Happiness' – dealt with this implicitly, a remarkably emotive but never direct experience.

Later taking time out to deal with depression, new album 'The Nothing' is an explicit attempt to move through grief, an album that deals not only with death, but how to keep on living.

He explains: “It wasn’t an intention of mine to write an album about dying or anything like that, but I realised after I’d written a few songs that they all were about it in some way. It got to a point where I couldn’t really avoid it. I’d done the divorce album and it was all I was left with, trying to make sense of this thing that happened. Halfway through I realised it was profoundly cathartic, it made me felt less scared of dying.”

Out now (purchase LINK), 'The Nothing' is a beautiful, cathartic work, one spurred on by live shows in which the material was radically re-worked.

The Last Dinosaur recently gathered to film a live version of 'The Greatest Film Never Made', a languid, emotive, and wonderfully absorbing performance.

Stirring, gripping, and unfailingly fascinating, you can check it out below.
