'Boys Don't Cry' is one of those rare songs which – despite never being a hit single – is almost instantly recognisable.
Through countless live performances, compilations and film usage, The Cure's single has reached ubiquitous status. An indie disco 'My Way' it's been covered by many an aspiring group, but never really bettered.
Taffy though, are intent on running Robert Smith & Co. close. Dropping 'Boys Don't Cry' into their live set, the Japanese shoegaze group slowed the tempo and upped the volume.
Given a full single release by Club AC30, 'Boys Don't Cry' proved to be a standout moment for the noise rock outfit. A slow burning cult success, the single has now been afforded the video treatment.
A straight forward performance clip, the shoot is nonetheless engaging and features the inimitable dynamism of Taffy in their natural element.
