It’s one of Robert Burns’ most famous lines, made redundant through over use.
Yet in the hands of Sons & Daughters, the ‘red rose’ becomes something visceral, vital and true. The Glasgow group’s new single ‘Red Rose’ is stripped from their no-holds-barred new album ‘Mirror Mirror’.
Due out on October 17th, it sees the band warm up the Autumn with an unrelenting blues driven stomper. Produced by JD Twitch (of Optimo fame) the single finds the group reaching back to their early inspirations.
Ragged and raw Twitch adds the merest hints of electronica to push the song forward. Moving backwards to find a way forwards, ‘Red Rose’ is perhaps the best entrance point possible for Sons & Daughters.
ClashMusic have managed to get our hands on the new video before anyone else – watch for the first time, exclusively on the site…
