Simple Minds Share Sicily-Shot ‘First You Jump’ Video

Taken from new album 'Direction Of The Heart'...

Simple Minds have shared the video for new song ‘First You Jump’.

The song is the second to emerge from their incoming album ‘Direction of The Heart’, which is set to land on October 21st. A nine-track affair, Sparks’ own Russell Mael guests, with the band aiming to provide some sense of uplift during tense times.

Simple Minds’ vocalist Jim Kerr comments:

“How to make a feel-good ‘Electro-rock’ record, during the very worst of times? ‘Direction Of The Heart’ is the result of that challenge. Who would have thought we’d have so much fun creating it?”

‘First You Jump’ is about our modern anxiety, and learning to overcome it – a Kerr-Burchill co-write with Simple Minds’ long-time bassist Ged Grimes, it comes equipped with a video shot in an ancient Sicilian theatre.

Filmed at the Ancient Theatre Taormina, the stunning surroundings are a suitable backdrop for the record-breaking Scottish act.

Tune in now.
