Forget everything else – the true sign of making it is a cover version.
SBTRKT's debut album dominated the critical polls in 2011, with the reclusive producer adding a sweet pop touch to his bass menagerie. Newcomers Shields are obviously fans, with the band opting to cover album highlight 'Pharoahs'. It's an intriguing decision.
The North East band are still fairly new, but manage to add something of themselves to SBTRKT's production. The video itself features Shields breezing through the song, with added masks as a nod towards their source. 'Pharoahs' will be collected alongside five other songs and made available from the band's website on November 19th.
