Samora Pinderhughes Shares ‘FORGIVE YOURSELF’ Video

The final moment on his beautiful new album...

Samora Pinderhughes has shared the new video for ‘Forgive Yourself’.

The American musician is a remarkable figure – an award-winning pianist and composer, he’s a cross-discipline artist. A noted collaborator, Samora recently won an Emmy for his soundtrack work, before returning to solo endeavours.

Out now, beautiful new album ‘Venus Smiles Not In The House Of Tears’ is a vivid experience, a song cycle that deals with loss, forgiveness, and our day-to-day attempts to continue.

A mantra recurs throughout the record: “Forgive Yourself. Learn to live with yourself. Don’t hurt yourself.”

The final moment on the record is ‘FORGIVE YOURSELF’, a moment of realisation that brings some of the complex themes in his songwriting to the fore. Now online with a full video, it remains a heart-stopping moment of musical ambition.

Samora comments…

“It’s very intentional for this to be the last song on the album; while this journey of self-discovery involves a lot of solitary processing, it also requires support from one’s community. I recorded this song with so many members of my musical community, and in particular I wanted to highlight the vocalists in The Healing Project Chorus, a group I put together that has become my singing family and has taught me the power of my own voice. To be loved by your community is the greatest love there is—in addition to the love of yourself. I wrote this album with Jack [Deboe] as a journey towards my own mental well-being, and I hope it will provide every listener with the feeling that whatever they’re going through: you’re not alone.”

Tune in now.
