Ahead of Thursday’s Red Bull Music Academy Culture Clash event at London’s Roundhouse, drum’n’bass pioneer Goldie gives us a preview of what to expect.
The reigning champion, with his Metalheadz crew, will be joined by the Soul Jazz Sound System, the Channel One Soundsystem and Skream & Benga’s crew for an almighty sonic throwdown.

The ever enthusiastic Goldie delving deep into soundclash technique, stating to his opponents that after 5 hours he still would have 5/6/7 records in his back pocket to “iron you out”. Goldie also looks back on a youth spending £50 on dubplates, with a suitcase full of nameless gems stored in his loft.
We also have a ‘mini clash’ as Pete Riley, Goldie and Mikey Dread step up to give us a sample of what to expect on the night. On the decks at Red Bull Academy studios each camp got the chance to lay down a marker with one track.
